About Rael Pilates: All of the exercises in the Rael Pilates series were inspired by the works of Joseph and Clara Pilates. The choreography has been modified but the essence of each movement has remained true to the source. Pilates focuses on the core of the body, namely the spine. During Pilates practice, you'll often hear more about toning and conditioning. Pilates can be combined with any number of other exercise practices and pursued at a variety of intensity levels. If you're a serious runner for example, you can use Rael Pilates' System 17 to provide a good warm-up prior for your jog, while Rael System 27 provides more of a cardiovascular workout.

Rael IsacowitzRael Isacowitz is recognized internationally as an expert in the Pilates method. He has worked extensively on five continents as a professional dancer, athlete, teacher and Master of Pilates. He received his Bachelor of Education degree in Israel at the Wingate Institute of Physical Education, where he later joined the faculty, and completed his Master of Arts degree in Dance at the University of Surrey, England in 1986.

In 1989, Rael founded Body Arts and Science InternationalT (BASI), a comprehensive educational program that allowed him to combine the practices of Pilates, yoga, dance, and athletics with his extensive academic knowledge, and more than 25 years of teaching experience.

He went on to establish On Center ConditioningT, a state of the art Pilates studio in Southern California (which is also the International Headquarters for BASIT) in 1991. Rael brings to his teaching unparalleled expertise combined with a passion for his work, which he shares generously with us all.
